Over the last decade, diets that some may consider 'extreme,' have gained tremendous popularity. I believe the driving force behind the popularity is the same force which promotes extreme elimination diets. The driving force, as Weston Price referred to, are the foods of modern commerce: those based in bleached flour, seed oils, high-fructose corn syrup, and other heavily processed dietary staples.

Because the use of these ingredients is so widespread, anyone who tries to avoid them must begin from a point of extreme elimination.
