When I began concerning myself with the water we consumed, it was in our tiny Brooklyn studio. We heard great things from New Yorkers about the quality of their tap-water, so I started to dig into it.

What initially began as an effort to verify the purity of the water coming from the tap has led me down a rabbit hole that seems to get deeper the more you dig.

It’s not entirely surprising given the incredibly unique nature of water, and the role it plays in the formation and sustenance of life on Earth - and beyond.

Briefly, my journey went something like this:

  • contaminants in the municipal water supply

  • consuming gallons of artificially fluoridated water just to help teeth

  • understanding the widespread mineral deficiencies in the general population

  • learning about the nature of structured water

  • mitochondrial function and de novo water production

  • deuterium and its role in disease

This has taken years of reading, thinking, and restructuring my mental framework of health, disease, and the role of our environment.

There is quite a complex interaction of factors that we need to discuss, so let’s tackle this in smaller pieces:

  1. Path of water and its constituents.

  2. Nature of water and its role in physiology.

  3. Sub-molecular components of water & mitochondrial health.

  4. New frontiers in water research.
